Mary Ann Mattis

Mary Ann Mattis has been a strong and active supporter of the Kyle area since relocating here with her family in 2002. Since that time, she has continued to maintain her personal commitment to be an involved member of the community that she now calls home.

A Native Texan from Dallas, Mary Ann has been an energetic advocate for better education in the Kyle area, having served as Hays High School’s Parent-Teacher-Student Association President, PTSO Vice President of the Academy @ Hays, and PTO President for Barton Middle School. In 2004, Mary Ann was recognized as the Hays CISD Volunteer of the Year.

Mary Ann enjoys her work as an assistant innkeeper at the Inn Above Onion Creek. She is also a member of the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce, Hays County Historical Commission, Kyle Area Senior Zone and River City Ballet.

In her spare time, Mary Ann enjoys spending time with her family. Her husband, Tom, serves as the City Manager of Kyle. Son, Alex, is currently a senior at the University of North Texas, majoring in Journalism. And, Mary Ann’s daughter, Lilly, is a freshman at the University of Texas in Austin, majoring in History.
